ABOUT US (As told in the epic style)
Herein lies the history of the great and noble Frie Companies von Lagersuufer:

In the year eleven anno Adriano, two great gentlemen from the east came down from the Swiss Alps to settle in the beautiful and peaceful lands of Esperance. Esperance was a young Kingdom and these good men known as Frans and Hans Lagersuufer offered their services to protect the lands. Through their bravery, the good Kingdom of Esperance overcame great trials and peril. For this, the great and noble King and Queen of Esperance granted the brothers Lagersuufer a noble House in its lands.

Soon, this great house began taking on many ventures. As men of "business", they began offering their "specialized" service as mercenaries for hire. Contracts were awarded and they garnered many favors from the Kingdom. Additionally, Hans and Frantz had a particular fondness for ale. So much so that they were known by their famous battle call, "I am Hans and I am Franz, and we are here to tap your keg!" By the time of the great "Beer War", their numbers and influence had grown so much that the Crowns of Esperance again granted them title, this time as a Baronial Estate.

Hans Lagersuufer became the first Baron von Lagersuufer. The Lagersuufer influence grew and more profit was made. In addition to their normal mercenary ventures, the "Shadowlands" was opened. Its proprietor, Lord Gerhard Lagersuufer opened this wondrous tavern to serve as a meeting place for good friends to discuss and debate issues of the Kingdom and the Empire. Each night, folks of all sorts from gentry to nobility crowded the main hall. Not long after the success of the Shadowlands Tavern, sad news came that Franz Lagersuufer had decided to retire back to his home in the Swiss Alps. Moreover, Hans Lagersuufer decided to return to Switzerland to fight the infidels invading the land. Upon his departure, Hans Lagersuufer left the Estate in the hands of Sir Morgan Blackthorn, who assumed the post as second Baron von Lagersuufer. Baron Blackthorn vowed to continue the great tradition of the Lagersuufer Company (of course, sending kickbacks to Switzerland whenever possible).

In the year thirteen anno Adriano, Sir Morgan Blackthorn expanded the influence of the Barony by making alliances. Barony von Lagersuufer allied itself with Barony Glendorren. Together, these great Estates were given two additional grants, that of the County de Monet and March Macabre. County de Monet came under stewardship of Lord Terrin Greyphis and March Macabre came under the stewardship of the Marquis Erasmus Lagersuufer.

It was the untimely death of King Reilly, Earl of Lincoln that March Macabre and all associated Estates fell out of favor. After a long and drawn out war, political strife and the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of the King, the people under the lordship of the Baron began to scatter to the winds.

Sir Morgan Blackthorn, Baron von Lagersuufer made his best efforts to retain his people. The Baron brought in another house to assist with the repairs and upkeep of the Baronial lands and made great effort to keep his lands and army in tact. The new house was of great help, but too many in the Barony and the March was now preoccupied with business outside the Kingdom. Several of the nobles took posts within the Imperial court, several entered retirement and others offered their services to other households.

After several months in quiet retreat, House Battaglia dell'arte began to rebuild the estate. Thanks to the wise planning of the estate's predecessors, the land holdings throughout the Kingdom kept the coffers flowing. In a short time, the Baronial Estate was reestablished.

It was during the reign of King Cromar I and Queen Willow II, that the Barony was granted its rights and returned to court. Once again, the great Lagersuufer influence was felt. This time, Lord Giachino Morone Lococo de San Filippo became the third and current Baron von Lagersuufer.

Shortly after the reformation of the Baronial estate, the good Queen fell ill from a terrible affliction. So distraught was the King that he requested the royal estates an make appointment of stewardship over the lands until such time as a proper heir could be found. It was Sir Jamie the Red who was then appointed as Lord Protector and took stewardship over the Kingdom.

Soon after the appointment of the Lord Protector, claims to the throne were made and war was, once again, on the horizon to settle the matter. The Lagersuufers, in their own right, decided to follow the tradition of its founders and profit from the situation. In this, the Company chose to enter into contract with Sir Connell, a Knight of the Kingdom, in his attempt to vie for the throne. With the aide of the Lagersuufer Company, Sir Connell was able to ascend to the throne of Esperance. In return, the Lagersuufer Companie was granted the lands of Koronaberg. Once again, the Lagersuufer Company had begun to expand its holdings.

Imperial lands were also contracted and in the year Sixteen Anno Adriano, the Lagersuufer Company entered into an agreement with Dame Elisabeth Grey. She wished to reclaim the throne of the Empire as the rightful ruler and Empress. She was victorious. This, of course, was due to the efforts of the Lagersuufer Company's vast army. In return, the Companie was granted the homelands of Switzerland!

Currently, the Companie has established strong relations with the Archduchy of Brandenburg as well as other lands both in the western and eastern Empire. New contracts are being reviewed and proposals are always welcome.

So ends the history of the Frie Companies von Lagersuufer

Be well, be safe.
