Labor Day Weekend

    • Site Fees: Site fees (for the entire weekend):

    $8 per person, children aged 5 to 10 $5, children under 5 free. Includes camping. Day Trip site fee: $5 per person per day. Children under 5 free.

    This site has two "flushie" bathrooms, one with pay showers, plenty of shade trees, and a swimming area. It is a "discreet" wet site. This means that we may drink as long as it is not from the original container, and only in our camping area. No kegs allowed.

    The Imperial Crown War events will be held on Saturday, August 30, in the same time frame as events at the other Crown War sites. Further details will be announced as they are received from the Imperial Ministers. For Arts & Science Entries: Since this is an Imperial Crown War, please have your entries ready to turn in when you check in. All entries have to judged without the entrants name, and will be assigned a number. Also, with how hard it can be to round up a plentiful supply of judges, and how much of prior events some of our judges have missed, we would like to ask that Artisans consider this when they plan their number of entries. We are not limiting your number of entries, just asking for your understanding towards those who judge.

    Our plan is to have Sunday be a hands-on education day with various Workshops. This is where we need your help: we are asking the populace to volunteer to host a 30 minute workshop on various 'How To' topics that would benefit the group. Subjects could include Leather Tooling, Cross Stitch, German Longsword Techniques' be imaginative, and share what you know how to do with those of us who don't! You get to pick your subject, and we will see how many we can fit in.

    We also have a few ideas about Prize Tourneys. Entry fees for these tourneys would be separate from the Site Fee.

    Plans are also to have a feast of some kind, but nothing has been set yet.

  • 9am – Court
  • 9:30 – Steel armour inspection
  • 9:30 – A&S begins (matrices and forms will be explained)
  • 9:45 – Steel Scenarios
  • 10:30 – Shinai armour inspection
  • 10:45 – Shinai scenarios (including Combat Archery)
  • 12:00 – Lunch
  • 1:00 – Archery
  • 3:30 – Tea Time (think snack break, not golf)
  • 4:00 – Ren armour inspection
  • 4:15 – Ren Scenarios (including Combat Archery)
  • 6:30 – Dinner
  • Open Bardic Entertainments
  • Socializing (we will have one central fire pit set up)  

    Sunday

  • 9:00 – Shinai and Steel armour inspection
  • 9:15 – Shinai and Steel Imperial Tournament
  • 9:15 – Children’s Activity – Sheep Shearing (it’s not what you think)
  • 10:45 – Ren armour inspection
  • 11:00 – Ren Imperial Tournament
  • 11:00 – Children’s Activity - Boffers
  • 12:00 – Lunch
  • 1:00 – Workshops begin; subjects include "Medieval Manners", "Steward’s Workshop", "German Longsword", "Covering the Mundane", "Modified Oriental Sword Techniques", "Chess of the Four Seasons", "Knitting", "Heraldry", "Recognizing Heat Stroke", and "Tablet Weaving".
  • 2:30 - Children’s Activity - Heraldry Hunt
  • 4:00 - Archery Imperial Tournament
  • 5:30 – Closing Court (to include a Knighting)
  • 7:00 – Pot-Planned Feast
  • Socializing  

    Monday

  • Tear down. We must be out of the park by 11am.

  • Turn RIGHT onto SACAJAWEA PARK RD.

  • From Oregon take your best route to I-82W. Merge onto I-82 W via EXIT 179 toward HERMISTON / UMATILLA (Crossing into WASHINGTON).
